In life, we don’t tend to notice the small steps, the odd little breadcrumb trails that lead us to a magical destination.
I guess I’ve always loved history. Ever since my primary school teacher regaled tales of Viking invasions and medieval battles. I’m lucky enough to live in a town steeped in history, a place that boasts Roman ruins, castles that date back to the Norman Conquest, the birthplace of Darwin.
It was while ambling along the history trail that I happened to stumble on a romance novel, lured purely by a title similar to a Shakespeare play. Reading that book took me on a different path, a beautiful detour where I discovered a love for the Regency Era, for bucks in breeches and illicit midnight liaisons. Consequently, that love grew into a raging passion for writing and I’m still strolling along the path wondering where it will lead me.
